FASH 110 Upcycle Project
This project began with a simple white linen blazer and evolved into a full coastal-inspired look. By layering upcycled materials, linen ruffles in buttery yellow, light blue, and white, a reconstructed skirt base, and unexpected fishnet, the piece explores how discarded fabric can be reimagined into something fresh and intentional.
The ruffles, sourced from StarLandia, bring movement and a sun-soaked color palette to the blazer, while starfish accents tie the beach narrative together. The fishnet adds an unconventional, textural contrast that elevates the look beyond a literal interpretation of coastal style.
Every element was chosen with sustainability and creativity in mind, proving that upcycling doesn't have to sacrifice aesthetic vision.
